Jannah Doud Summoned for Unpaid Debt

To the Sheriff of the County of Newhaven or his Deputy or either of the
Constables of the Town of Guilford within Said County Greeting—

 In the name of the Governour and Company of
the State of Connecticut you are hereby Commanded
to summon Jannah Doud of S^d Guilford to Appear
Before me Elias Grave Esqr Justice of peace for the
County of New haven  at my Dwelling house
in S^d Guilford on thirsday the 22 Day of insta
nt may at four a Clock in the after Noon then and there
to Answer unto Josiah Scranton of Sd Guilford in an Action or Plea
that to the Plaintiff he the Defendant Render the Sum of
one pound ten shillings Lawfull money Due By Book to
Balance Book accounts as By the plantiffs Book Ready in
Court to Be Produced fully Appears which Debt the Defendant
hath never paid tho often Requested and Demanded which is
to the Damage of the Plantiff  the soum Sum of L 1-10-0
Lawfull money and for the Recovery thereof with Just Costs
the Plantiff Brings this suit hereof fail not But of this
Writ with your doings thereon make Due Return Dated
at Guilford the 15 Day of may AD 1783
