Jacob Conkling and Others Summoned

To the sheriff of the County of New Haven his Deputy or Either
of the Constables of the Town of Guilford within Said County
greeting –

whereas Complaint hath been made to me the ….
justice of the Peace for for the County of New Haven By
Benjamin Teal Ganjuryman for the Town of Guilford
informing Against and Presentment making of Jacob
Conkling formerly of Southold on Longisland now
Resident in Guilford for the Breach of a Law of this
Colony Entitled an Act Against Breaking the Peace
for that the Said Jacob Conkling on or about the
twenty third Day of July Last at or nigh the house of
Billy Willcox in East Guilford Did then and their--
Disturb and Break the Peace of the Good Subjects of this
and the United States of North America by kicking the
Person of timothy Bradley and Other Tumultuous and
Offensive Behaviour all which is Contrary to Said act
And Law as per Compliant on file apparent—
These are therefore in the Name of the Governor and
Company of the State of Connecticut to require you forthwith to apre
hend  the body of the Jacob Conkling if he may be
found in your precincts and him have before me the
Subscribing Authority at my Dwelling house in
Guilford then to be Examined Touching the Premeses
and to be Dealt with According to Law and Justice
hereof fail Not But of this writ with your Doings
Thereon make Due Return Dated in Guilford this
22nd Day of September A D  1781
