Education

Guided by its mission, the Deacon John Grave Foundation's educational philosophy and programs offer experiences that recreate the history of the Deacon John Grave House and the 7 generations  who lived there. Our programs emphasize the personal side of history by letting our visitors experience what it was like to be a member  of the Grave family, doing things that they might have done in the very rooms they inhabited. Our goal is to involve people in such a way that history becomes less abstract and becomes a thread that ties the past directly to our lives today.  

Our education programs incorporate multiple disciplines and align with the Connecticut core curriculum frameworks. They can accommodate students from grade1-6 with special programs for older children, adults and families.
