May 6 - Tuesday

The Deacon John Grave Foundation will be traveling to NYC to experience the Museum of American Finance. The day will begin with a 12.30 lunch at historic Fraunces Tavern followed by a tour of the museum.

May 10 - Saturday 9-2

Annual Garden Club of Madison Plant Sale at the Deacon John Grave House Barn

Deacon John Grave Foundation Annual Meeting
Board member Peter Gulick of Gulick and Spradlin Renovations Contractors will be our speaker for this event. His topic - Historic Renovations in the 21st Century - Blending the practicalities of modern living while maintaining historic integrity.

July 12, 2008 - Saturday
The Deacon John Grave House will be open for guided tours with open hearth cooking happening in the Tavern room. Members of the Madison Art Society will be exhibiting paintings on the lawn and barn. Paintings will be available for sale.

September 13, 2008 "Treasure the Grave" - Celebrating A Quarter Century of Preservation
A New England Harvest Dinner, Dance, and Auction silent auction, sampling of farmstead cheeses, and traditional string band - 6.00 pm. Dinner (pig roast and other bounty of a New England autumn) at 7:00 pm. Live auction at 8:00 pm

In the spirit of the Grave family celebrating the end of a season of hard work we will be celebrating the Deacon John Grave Foundation's quarter century of accomplishments while looking forward to the future!

The silent auction will held be in the house, with the seated dinner, music, and live auction held in a comfortable tent amid the gardens of the Deacon John Grave House

October 25, 2008
Halloween Festivities featuring the Ghost Hunter,
Cynthia Kaczynski, reporting on the results of her search for lingering spirits of the families who dwelled in the Deacon John Grave House from 1685 until 1978. Her methods include the use of infrared cameras and monitors for thermal imaging, meters, scanners, and digital cameras as well as digital night vision camcorders.

There will also be a Haunted Happenings History Tour of downtown Madison

June - August, Saturdays 1-4 pm
The Deacon John Grave House will be open for docent led tours. Tours can also be scheduled by appointment. 245-4798
