In 1681/2 William Whiting wrote to say he delivered John's letter to Mr Kiffen who is not yet "Sattisfyed" and demands a "Letter of Attorney" to him signed by all parties before he will release the 50 pounds. It must be done quickly for Mr Kiffin said "he growes Ancient and would
willingly discharge it before he dyes.".
